What could drivers do for stepper motor?
- Driver specification
- Get lower noise, lower vibration, protect overheating
- Smooth acceleration and deceleration.
Features need to be considered when selecting driver for stepper motor.
- Driver specification
- Determine the load type
- Supply voltage of application
In general, the supply voltage varies from 12VDC, 24VDC, 110VAC and 220VAC etc.
The maximum voltage of driver can supply to stepper motor.
- Driver's current
Current is one of the most important characteristics when selecting driver. Normally the max current of driver should be a little higher than normal current.
- Amps per phase
The winding of motor won't get burnt under this maximum current Resistance of each phase
- Resolution of drivers
Resolution is one of the key factors for control precision. Normally the stepper motor vibrates at low frequency; increasing resolution helps to minimize the vibration. Higher resolution helps the motor running more stably.
